A Polish official has called on US president Joe Biden to honour his promise to build silos along the Ukrainian border, aimed at helping farmers affected by Russia’s war.
In a rare move from Washington’s ally in central and eastern Europe, Jadwiga Emilewicz, Poland’s state secretary for development co-operation with Ukraine, appeared to criticise the US’s lack of progress on the issue.
Emilewicz told the Financial Times that when she met officials in Washington last month there was scant detail about the pledge Biden had made during a speech in Philadelphia in June last year.
